Material Handling Specialist

Responsibilities Operate large forklifts or overhead cranes (with proper training) to load or unload master coils or other materials from rail cars and/or trucks. Load or unload slit ribbon material on production line decoilers as defined by the steel loading process. Feed slit ribbon material into stamping dies and perform first‑piece inspection. Conduct routine quality control on materials, including thickness, gauge, width, and coating measurements. Monitor production equipment for coolant and oil levels and adjust as necessary. Attend work during the regular shift schedule, including the ability to work overtime as required, arrive on time, and be ready at the workstation at the start of the shift. Qualifications & Skills Education: High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated safety record and compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Ability to follow safety training, maintain a clean and safe work area, and report injuries, incidents, and unsafe conditions promptly. Attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness; self‑monitoring to ensure quality; responsiveness to feedback to improve performance. Productivity mindset: meet productivity standards while maintaining quality, increase output without compromising work, and complete tasks in a timely manner. Strong teamwork and professional communication with co‑workers, vendors, and customers. Willingness and ability to work overtime and long hours when necessary to achieve goals.
