New Grad RN Residency Emergency Department

Overview Parham Doctors' Hospital is a community hospital within HCA Healthcare offering a year‑long RN Residency Program. The program provides advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship, simulation evaluations, mentoring, and evidence‑based practice projects. Job Summary and Qualifications The residency is paid and facilitates the transition from student nurse to registered nurse. You will coordinate and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care, collaborate with medical providers, and apply nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The program offers flexible start dates and shift assignments based on unit needs. Responsibilities Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any status changes. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical providers and document care in the patient medical record promptly. Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and intervene appropriately when necessary. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs, and resolving issues proactively. Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical condition, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex terminology. Qualifications Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment. Other certifications may be required during employment. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Registered Nurse license or Graduate Nurse in the state.
