Project Manager-Circular Economy

Summary The Circular Economy Project Manager is responsible for leading the Circular Economy (CE) Project Management Office (PMO) at Abbott and managing the transition to US Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements. This role provides overall project governance, stakeholder engagement, performance tracking, and communication to ensure successful delivery of circular economy initiatives across the organization. Title: Project Manager-Circular Economy Location: Abbott Park, Illinois Duration: 12 Months 100% Onsite Summary The Circular Economy Project Manager is responsible for leading the Circular Economy (CE) Project Management Office (PMO) at Abbott and managing the transition to US Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements. This role provides overall project governance, stakeholder engagement, performance tracking, and communication to ensure successful delivery of circular economy initiatives across the organization. The position serves as a key liaison between the Steering Committee, project workstreams, business representatives, and external stakeholders, driving alignment, accountability, and continuous improvement across the Circular Economy program. Key Responsibilities; Project and PMO Management Manage the day-to-day activities of the Circular Economy PMO. Coordinate project governance processes and ensure timely delivery of key objectives and milestones. Engage regularly with the Steering Committee, stakeholders, and business representatives to maintain alignment and drive project success. Monitor project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation actions. Stakeholder Engagement and Governance Lead PMO Steering Committee meetings, including agenda development, meeting facilitation, minutes, and action tracking. Collaborate with workstream and task force leads to ensure completion of deliverables and milestones. Provide project updates and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders. Reporting and Performance Management Develop and maintain project metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and reporting templates. Create and manage the PMO dashboard to provide visibility of project progress, risks, and achievements. Conduct assessments of completed milestones and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Communications and Training Publish the PMO bulletin highlighting program progress, achievements, and key updates. Develop and deliver awareness and training programs supporting Circular Economy initiatives and regulatory requirements. Drive stakeholder awareness and engagement through effective communication strategies. Systems and Administration Maintain the CE PMO SharePoint site, ensuring information remains accurate, up to date, and accessible. Manage the PMO events calendar and coordinate project-related meetings and activities. Support documentation management, project records, and governance controls. Regulatory Transition Management Lead the coordination and project management of Abbott's transition to US EPR requirements. Support cross-functional teams in understanding and implementing regulatory obligations. Track implementation activities and ensure alignment with regulatory timelines and business objectives. Success Measures Achievement of project milestones and strategic objectives. Effective stakeholder engagement and governance. Timely and accurate project reporting and dashboard management. Successful implementation of US EPR requirements. Increased organizational awareness and adoption of Circular Economy initiatives. Continuous improvement of PMO processes and project outcomes.
