Junior Mechanical Engineer

Supporting senior engineers in a contract role, the proactive Junior Mechanical Engineer will assist with 3D CAD modeling, design verification, prototyping, and technical documentation for complex mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities Create and update 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings using tools like SolidWorks, Creo, or NX Perform basic structural, thermal, and tolerance stack-up calculations to validate design ideas Support hands-on assembly, physical testing, and root-cause troubleshooting for engineering prototypes Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a related discipline from an accredited university 0-2 years of professional, co-op, or internship experience in mechanical design Hands-on experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, PTC Creo, Siemens NX, or CATIA) Solid understanding of core principles (statics, dynamics, materials science, thermodynamics) Basic familiarity with GD&T standards (ANSI/ASME)
