Pest Control Technician

Protective Thermal Solutions | Columbus, OH

Pay: $16.00–$18.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with occasional weekends and schedule adjustments based on customer needs

Work Location: In person, at customer locations throughout Columbus and surrounding areas

We're hiring Pest Control Technicians to provide professional pest management services at residential and commercial properties throughout the Columbus area.

Previous pest control experience is preferred, but not required. We're willing to train the right person.

Protective Thermal Solutions (PTS) is a Columbus-based pest management company specializing in bed bug heat treatments, canine bed bug detection, and general pest control services. We serve homeowners, property managers, apartment communities, and commercial businesses. Our work takes us directly into customers' homes and businesses, where professionalism, attention to detail, and respect for their property are essential.

What You'll Do

• Inspect residential and commercial properties for pest activity and conditions contributing to infestations.
• Perform pest control treatments using company-approved products, equipment, and procedures.
• Assist with specialized pest management services, including bed bug heat treatments, as trained and assigned.
• Prepare treatment areas and take appropriate precautions to protect customer property.
• Communicate with customers about services performed, treatment expectations, and preventive recommendations.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, treatments, and completed services.
• Follow established safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain equipment, tools, supplies, and assigned vehicles.
• Travel between customer locations, manage assigned appointments, and complete work thoroughly and on time.
• Communicate promptly with management regarding customer concerns, unexpected conditions, or problems encountered on the job.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
• Ability and willingness to complete training and obtain required pest control licenses or certifications.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established safety procedures.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Basic comfort using a smartphone or mobile device to manage appointments and document work.
• Ability to work independently and stay organized.
• Previous pest control or related field service experience preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position that requires working in a variety of environments.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and access attics, crawl spaces, and basements.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely operate pest control equipment and wear required protective gear.
• Ability to travel between customer locations throughout the workday.

Compensation and Schedule

• Starting pay of $16.00–$18.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
• Typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.
• Occasional weekend work and schedule adjustments based on customer needs.
• Field-based position serving customers throughout Columbus and surrounding areas.
• Training provided for candidates without previous pest control experience.
• Employee benefits are not currently offered.
