Work hours: 48 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 8 hours/day, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Job Duties:

Worker will be required to perform the following job duties including but not limited to: Perform winter-specific duties including snow removal around barns and feeding areas, maintaining water access for livestock, and ensuring safe working conditions during cold weather. caring and management of dairy cattle including feeding livestock with silage, hay, and grain, assisting with milking operations. Operate tractors, loaders, and feed equipment to mix and distribute feed; covering/uncovering silage/feed and hay piles; Maintain clean, sanitary farm areas by cleaning stalls, pens, and equipment with disinfectants, brushes, shovels, hoses, or pumps; including washing parlor walls/floors/pit, bulk tank, feeders, pails, sinks, and pipelines and scraping and piling manure, hay, and foreign matter from pens, alleys, feeders, etc; use common hand, air, and electric tools for routine repairs and upkeep. Milk cows by hand or machine milking, ensuring orphan calves receive colostrum after birth, identifying animals with brands, tags, paint, or tattoos; breaking ice in water troughs, maintain animal corrals and enclosures as well as water systems and facilities. Protect systems and animals during cold months to prevent freezing and damage from snow and ice.

The nature of farm work may require workers to work after dark and possibly weekends depending on weather conditions. Hours offered may vary based on factors such as weather or other unpredictable variables that impact the farm’s operation as applicable and per the job description).

Minimum Education Required

None. No High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience Required

Lift up to 65 lbs.

Be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, cold.

Lift and carry supplies.

Follow instructions.

Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.

Must be able to obtain appropriate driver's license within 30 days following hire and obtain clean driving record to be able to operate company vehicle.

Job will require exposure to extreme temperatures.

Extensive pushing and pulling is required.

Extensive walking or sitting is required.

Frequent stooping or bending over is required.

Repetitive movements are required.

Additional Compensation

Employer may, at the company’s sole discretion, pay workers at a rate above the minimum required and/or provide additional compensation such as bonuses, fixed salaries, PTO, insurance, incentive pay, or other benefits to any worker employed under this job order based on lawful, non-discriminatory factors including skill, performance, tenure with the employer, licensing, training, punctuality, or prior related experience.

As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

Job Benefits

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
