Early Childhood Teacher

Job Title

Job duties include:

1. Meeting and instructing assigned classes in designated locations and times.
2. Planning a program of study that meets individual student needs and interests.
3. Creating a classroom environment conducive to learning.
4. Guiding the learning process toward achieving district curriculum goals.
5. Preparing for classes and providing written evidence of preparation upon request.
6. Using various instructional techniques and media.
7. Implementing the district's philosophy of education.
8. Assessing student accomplishments and communicating with parents.
9. Maintaining accurate records as required by law and district policy.
10. Diagnosing learning challenges and seeking assistance from district specialists.
11. Taking precautions to protect students and school property.
12. Following the school's code of conduct and developing classroom behavior rules.
13. Planning and supervising paraprofessional assignments.
14. Engaging in professional growth and teacher evaluation process.
15. Attending building and district meetings.
16. Participating in school-sponsored activities.
17. Contributing to district decisions regarding budget, facilities, curriculum, and well-being.
18. Maintaining and improving professional competence.

Qualifications include:

• Highly qualified with required competency in the content area.
• Appropriate content/program area educator license and grade level licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
• Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license or Master's Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years.
