Junior Camp Counselor

NATURE AND SCOPE: Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, theJuniorCamp Counselor will be primarily responsible for supporting thecamp lead counselor,assistingin execution of program activities and the supervision of campers.This role is crucialfor providingguidance, safety, leadership, education, and enjoyment for children servedatcamp. RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to): Provide guidance, safety, leadership, education, and enjoyment for children served by camp. Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position’s scope and responsibility. Stay updated on current issuesregardingcamp programs. Promote, monitor, evaluate and ensure that all camp programs run smoothly witha high levelof service to participants. Maintain branch and association certifications in CPR, Metro_AtlantaYMCANew Staff Orientation and Branch Emergency procedures_and any other required certifications and/or training required by the Metro Atlanta YMCA. Assistas needed in all aspects of the YMCA and its community. Responsible formaintainingand reporting incident/accident paperwork. REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 16years of age Experience working with children in a structured setting Must have or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR;and any other certificationsrequiredfor the position. Ability to climb, walk, run, stoop, squat or kneel. Ability to lift and carry equipment toappropriate destinationsor affect the carrying of such equipment.
