Upstream Manufacturing Manager

Agilent seeks a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to lead daily production of chemical reference standards in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. The role combines hands-on manufacturing leadership with chemistry expertise to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations while developing team capability and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity targets
• Ensure production activities comply with approved procedures, specifications, and regulatory requirements
• Promote safety culture, proper chemical handling practices, and site compliance standards
• Partner with Quality and technical teams to resolve issues, reduce nonconformances, and maintain integrity
• Identify and lead improvements using lean, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methods

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or related technical field
• Experience leading manufacturing or technical operations in chemical or regulated environments
• Working knowledge of organic and inorganic chemistry, formulation, and safe chemical handling
• Demonstrated ability to lead people, manage priorities, and build trust with cross-functional teams
• Experience using data to monitor performance, solve problems, and drive operational decisions
• Strong problem-solving skills balancing safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer impact
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced manufacturing with changing priorities

Compensation: $84,160.00 - $131,500.00/yr plus bonus and benefits eligibility
