The Hungry Owl is a fast paced, modern food concept serving bold Thai, Filipino, and island inspired dishes. We operate out of The Block Jax, one of Jacksonville’s most exciting food hall destinations. We’re focused on great food, strong teamwork, and a high-energy atmosphere. We’re looking for a reliable, hard working person to join our team full-time.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and cook menu items to recipe standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
• Assist with prep work, inventory, and restocking
• Work efficiently during high-volume service periods
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Support team members to keep service running smoothly

Requirements:

• Previous kitchen or food service experience required
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods
• Strong work ethic and team oriented mindset
• Ability to handle a fast paced environment
• Reliable transportation and history of punctuality
• Food Manager certification preferred but not required

Business Operating Hours:

• Wednesday and Thursday 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
• Friday and Saturday 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
• Sunday 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Schedule:

Full time cook will cover a majority of operating hours while being open to possible special events on Mondays or Tuesdays. Scheduling will be flexible as long as a minimum 30 hours are maintained.
