Manager, Field Sales - Souvenirs & Giftware Wholesaler - CPG (Florida)

The company employs approximately 130 people and is headquartered in Markham, Ontario, Canada, with Florida operations — warehouse, office, and showroom — run from Orlando, Florida. They are a wholesaler of souvenirs and giftware, distributing postcards, magnets, keychains, mugs, snow globes, plush, and novelty items to major retail chains and independent retailers across Canada and the United States. Notable accounts include Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Hudson, and Paradies. OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY Florida office: Orlando, Florida (warehouse, office, and showroom) Work arrangement: field‑based — in the field with the reps daily, roughly one day per week (a few hours) at the Orlando office; administrative work otherwise done from home Sales territory: State of Florida — established clusters in Orlando (hub), Tampa, and Miami, with a growth focus on the currently uncovered Jacksonville market Hours: full‑time Overnight travel: approximately 10–20% EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Approximately 8–10 years of combined management and supervisory experience, with proven regional or territory sales leadership — ideally leading a field team of roughly 5–10 reps Approximately 5+ years in a consumer‑products environment Industry background in retail or wholesale consumer products; strongest fit is souvenirs, giftware, gifts, collectibles, novelty, or apparel — transferable backgrounds include housewares, home décor, kitchenware, home textiles, lifestyle and accessories, toys, games, plush, specialty food and confectionery, stationery, and seasonal/holiday products Key‑account / chain experience is essential — demonstrated success selling to and growing major retail chains such as Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Hudson, and Paradies Direct‑store‑delivery (DSD) experience is a strong asset Ability to grow an independent retail base in addition to managing major chains A hands‑on field operator — willing and physically able to merchandise, reset, and work stores in the field, and to step into a rep’s role when needed. University degree in business and/or equivalent general‑management experience preferred — not a mandatory requirement Valid U.S. driver’s licence and a reliable personal vehicle are required — the role involves heavy daily driving TECHNICAL SKILLS Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) — Intermediate THE PRODUCT / SERVICE / SOLUTION Souvenirs and giftware, including postcards, magnets, keychains, mugs, snow globes, plush, and novelty items PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS / INDUSTRY FOCUS / DECISION MAKER(S) Major national retail chains — including Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Hudson, and Paradies Independent souvenir, gift, and convenience retailers in tourist areas — a base the company wants to grow Customers are located in tourist‑area retail across Florida Primary decision‑makers: store managers at the chain level, and owners and buyers at independent retailers SALES CYCLE / ORDER VALUE / ACCOUNT SIZE The business runs on a direct‑to‑store delivery (DSD) and in‑store merchandising model, with ongoing repeat and replenishment activity at the store level Shelf space is earned store by store — the product is not planogrammed into a fixed in‑line position The role blends ongoing major‑chain account management with new account and new‑territory development COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES Product that turns faster than the generic merchandise occupying the same shelf space A direct‑to‑store delivery (DSD) and in‑store merchandising model that wins and holds retail space store by store Established relationships with major national retail chains Approximately 40 years in business as a wholesaler of souvenirs and giftware TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES 60% Managing, coaching, and field‑selling with the sales reps — 1:1s, ride‑alongs, opening accounts, and phone and remote support 20% Strategic growth — pursuing new key and independent accounts and opening new territory, most notably building the Jacksonville market 10% Hands‑on coverage — covering open territories during transitions and merchandising or resetting stores during merchandiser gaps 10% Territory P&L and administration — budgets, forecasts, cost of sales, and participation in new‑product, SKU, and inventory decisions LEADS An established base of major‑chain accounts to manage and grow at the store level from Day 1 New business development — expanding the independent retailer base and building the uncovered Jacksonville market from scratch (opening accounts directly, proving the territory, then justifying and onboarding a rep) Space and growth are earned store by store through consistent field presence — this is a hands‑on, get‑into‑the‑stores role, not a desk office role OVERNIGHT TRAVEL Approximately 10–20% Regular in‑state field travel across the territory (Orlando–Tampa–Miami), with periodic overnight stays for Miami and Jacksonville expansion visits A one‑week onboarding trip to the Canadian head office and a training rotation with the company’s lead training rep in Atlanta are required at the outset SUPPORT & TRAINING One‑week onboarding at the Canadian head office A training rotation with the company’s lead training rep based in Atlanta Hands‑on time in the Orlando warehouse to learn the product and DSD/merchandising operation Ongoing support and direction from the National Sales Manager, USA WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY A funded growth mandate with real autonomy — lead and build the Florida territory from approximately $6M toward approximately $10M A senior leadership seat with visibility to senior leadership and meaningful upside for an exceptional performer A true player‑coach role — build a new market (Jacksonville) from the ground up and shape how the team and merchandiser group are organized An established company of approximately 40 years with strong relationships across major national retail chains A competitive base plus a growth‑tied annual bonus, car allowance, expense reimbursement, and health‑cost support Equal Opportunity Employer Just Sales Jobs and our clients are equal opportunity employers.
