CNC ProgrammerThis role focuses on programming CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam to produce high-quality steel components. You will create and optimize CNC programs, select appropriate tooling and cutting parameters, and ensure efficient, accurate, and repeatable machining processes in a manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesProgram CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam to produce precision steel components.Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs to improve cycle times, tool life, and part quality.Set up and machine steel parts, including stainless and alloy steels, to meet engineering specifications.Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T to ensure accurate part production.Select appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds for efficient and safe machining operations.Troubleshoot machining and programming issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.Collaborate with production and engineering teams to refine processes and improve manufacturability.Verify first-piece parts and make necessary program or setup adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.Maintain organized program files and documentation for repeat jobs and continuous improvement.Follow established safety procedures and best practices while operating CNC equipment.Essential SkillsMinimum 5+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.Strong proficiency in programming CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam.Hands-on experience machining and programming steel, including stainless and alloy steels.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and GD&T.Solid understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling selection, feeds, and speeds.Proven ability to troubleshoot machining and programming issues on the shop floor.Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate components.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a high-mix, precision manufacturing environment.Familiarity with continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with machinists and engineers.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks.Why Work Here?You will join a manufacturing environment that values technical expertise, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday with a 6:00 a.m. start time, and Saturday overtime is available as needed. You will work in a production shop environment around steel components, including stainless and alloy steels, using Mastercam and related CAD/CAM tools at programming stations and on the shop floor. The role involves standing for extended periods, working near running machinery, and following standard shop safety practices, including appropriate protective attire as required for a CNC machining environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Angeles, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $55.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
