Critical Care Paramedics have an expanded scope of practice allowing them to administer more medications than normal paramedics. Minimum Qualifications Current licensure as required by state where services are being provided State license: WV Paramedic through the West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services Nationally registered as Paramedic as required by state board National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (unless state license is State License Only (SLO)) Mobile Critical Care Paramedic Certification through West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services Basic Life Support Certification within 30 days of hire Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) OR Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) Three (3) years’ experience as a Field Paramedic Core Duties and Responsibilities Provide emergency care for patients while transporting from one facility to another Keep patients stable during transport by assessing, monitoring, and intervening using a variety of procedures and interventions Monitor transvenous pacemakers and adjust rate and milliamps as needed Monitor balloon pumps Perform NG and OG insertions Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
