The Steward plays a key role in supporting smooth kitchen and restaurant operations by ensuring all cookware, utensils, and serviceware are cleaned, sanitized, and readily available for our culinary and service teams. Your attention to detail, commitment to cleanliness, and ability to maintain a safe and organized work environment directly contribute to the quality and consistency of every dining experience at Live! Casino & Hotel. Compensation: $17.00

Responsibilities

• Clean designated equipment, sinks, refrigerators/freezers, service areas, walls, floors, and Kitchen/Cafeteria/Dumpster/Compactor areas as assigned, following all sanitation requirements.
• Stock kitchen lines, restaurant service areas, and buffet line with designated cleaned wares, utensils, and equipment handle carefully to prevent breakage
• Transport garbage containers and compactors from kitchen and work areas to dumpsters.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all department policies, procedures and standards.
• Retain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
• Check the working condition of equipment and machinery in accordance with specifications.
• Inspect the cleanliness and condition of all washed equipment and areas; re-clean items not meeting standards.
• Store cleaned equipment in designated areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and working condition of garbage disposal and grease traps.
• Continue cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout shift.
• Use designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment to clean various floor surfaces
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of supply/storage closets; remove the trash, wipe down shelves/counters; clean floors; remove items that do not belong and place them in the correct areas.
• Report any damages, maintenance problems, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Adhere to all health departments, sanitization, and safety regulations as required.
• Organize and restock work areas for the next shift.

Skills to Help You Succeed:

• Ability to use chemicals and equipment; no skin sensitivities.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards/guidelines.
• Ability to read and write basic instructions.
• Strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Zero (0) to six (6) month's foodservice experience.
• Willingness and ability to be flexible with work schedule. May require extended hours and work week from time to time.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license as determined by the Maryland State Lottery and Gaming Commission for the position.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to:
  • Work long hours.
  • Stand for long periods of time without sitting or leaning.
  • Handle up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 30 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Climb, bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms, work under variable temperatures and noise levels.

• 24/7 high energy casino with over 300,000 sq. ft of gaming and entertainment space and approximately 3000 employees.
• Exposed to alcohol, cigarette and cigar smoke, bright lights, and loud noises.
• You will work in an environment where smoking is allowed.

Please note that this is a union-represented position and scheduling is governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Team Members may be required to participate in shift bids, and shift assignments may change based on operational requirements and Team Member seniority.
