Specialist, Counseling and Guidance Services (PO#4060, 2026-2027 School Year)

Primary Purpose The Counseling and Guidance Specialist supports the development and implementation of a comprehensive school counseling program through initiatives that are effectively designed and sustained via recruitment, training, and strategic matching of mentors, ultimately enhancing student support, engagement, and overall well‑being across the district. Qualifications Master's degree in school counseling, social work, psychology, or educational leadership preferred Valid Texas School Counselor Certification preferred Special Knowledge/Skills Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to successfully engage with community partners such as local faith, civic, and business organizations Knowledge of counseling practices, career/college/military development, and high school graduation requirements Ability to manage confidential student information and maintain accurate records Physical and Mental Demands Tools/Equipment: Standard office equipment, including personal computer and peripherals Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds) Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel and out‑of‑state travel Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress Compensation Pay Grade: Pending Board Approval for 2026-2027 (Minimum: $81,413 Midpoint: $98,088) Days/Contract Status: 230/Exempt-Non-Contract Pay Rate: See Current Salaries on Human Resource Website #J-18808-Ljbffr Pearland ISD
