• Ability and willingness to work in both Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby.

Description:

A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. Promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education is essential. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of a recognized care model, the RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies their educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs assessments and reassessments by policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition.
• Demonstrates ability to make sound independent decisions.
• Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care and reviews and revises the plan as indicated.

• Assesses and anticipates discharge needs of individual patients and families.
