Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) with charge experience to provide care within a floating capacity across various units. The ideal candidate will have experience in cardiac step-down nursing, although this is not a strict requirement. The patient population includes ER boarded patients, telemetry, and medical-surgical cases. Our team is essential in addressing staffing needs throughout the institution.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population.
• Float between different units as needed to meet the institution's demands.
• Manage staffing needs, bed flow, and overall coordination as the Charge Nurse on smaller units.
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and patient care standards.

Nurse to Patient Ratios

Ratios will vary from 1:4 to 1:6, depending on the unit's acuity level.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with charge responsibilities.
• Experience in the U.S. healthcare system is required; Canadian experience is not qualifying.
• Proficiency in the EPIC charting system is required.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and isolation precautions.

Unit Details

Work includes collaborating with interdisciplinary support teams, such as IV Therapy, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and more.

The unit may vary in specific patient diagnoses, and you will be expected to float among different units as required.

Patient Demographics

This role primarily involves caring for adult and geriatric patients, with a daily census that varies depending on unit occupancy.

Additional Notes

• Travelers may be required to float between nearby facilities.
• All scheduling requests must be communicated upfront.
• Must be willing to work during three of the five major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
