Summary

The Operations Manager II is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the effective functioning of various operational departments within the facility. This position entails managing a diverse team of department managers and supervisors to ensure seamless coordination, operational excellence, and the achievement of production targets, quality standards, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction, guidance, and support to department managers and supervisors across multiple operational units, including production, quality assurance, logistics, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute strategic plans aimed at optimizing operational efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing productivity while upholding the highest quality standards.
• Oversee the execution of production schedules, analyze production data, and engage with production teams to guarantee the timely delivery of high-quality transformer products that meet or surpass customer specifications.
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to establish and enforce stringent quality control measures, ensuring compliance with industry and customer standards.
• Optimize the allocation of resources, including human resources, equipment, and materials, to maximize production capacity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for enhancement.
• Uphold a strong commitment to safety by ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
• Foster effective collaboration with other departments to streamline cross-departmental processes and ensure seamless coordination.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for each operational department, consistently analyzing data to identify trends, areas of concern, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate closely with the finance team to create and manage the operational budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and prudent cost control.
• Identify training and development needs within operational teams, facilitating professional growth and succession planning.

Minimum Requirements

Education/Certifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field preferred.

Experience

• 6+ years of relevant manager experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting, required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong knowledge of plant operations, production processes, and safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify operational inefficiencies and implement solutions.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in using computer software and systems for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
