Position Information

Position Title: Neurosurgeon (Assistant Professor)

Department: SOM - Neuro Surgery

Location: MUSOM - Marshall University School of Medicine, Huntington, WV

Salary Range: Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation, treatment, surgical procedures, and follow-up care for adult neurosurgery patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Serve in clinic, hospital, and teaching components, including general neurosurgery call coverage with other neurosurgeons.
• Active participation in physician and hospital outreach activities related to General Neurosurgery.
• Engage in medical student and resident education, mentoring, and research activities.
• Perform all other appropriate duties as assigned by the chair of the Department of Neurosurgery.

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible General Neurosurgeon with completed Neurosurgery Residency.
• Must have or be eligible to obtain a license to practice medicine in West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky.
• Medical degree and completion of residency training in Neurosurgery.
• Interest in academic medicine with emphasis on clinic‑based practice.
• Strong desire to teach and mentor medical students.
