Field Technician - PT Position

compensation: $15-$20/hr based on experience
employment type: part-time
Amazing Technologies located in Newport News, Virginia has an immediate opening for a
PART-TIME FIELD TECHNICIAN.
The Field Technician is responsible for responding in person to established appointments at client locations to provide technical support and service Work hours per week are estimated to vary and the weekly schedule will vary due to demand, projects, seasonal coverage, etc. Occasional evening, weekend hours may be necessary as part of the variable work schedule.
This position requires significant travel to client sites in the region.

High-level Position Responsibilities for Field Technician:
• Respond to customer issues within established service level agreement response time
• Provide onsite and remote support
• Perform basic tasks associated with work request including but not limited to 1) Desktop configuration, moderate server configuration, switch configuration, light router configuration, 2) Escalations, new equipment installations, 3) Completion and timely submission of related documentation, 4) Wiring skills with a network, telephone wiring experience preferred 66 block, 110 block cross-connects
• Respond to related questions and inquiries - via phone and/or email - on incoming and completed work orders
• Review alerts, reports and respond to various inquiries related to work performed and/or work order notes, equipment used/needed, equipment inventory (incoming and outgoing)
• Basic computer, small office equipment repair
• Other duties or tasks assigned by the leadership team and/or oversight manager

Qualifications and Desired Skills:
• Genuine interest in technology
• Ability to handle a wide range of electronic, computer, printer, and small office equipment repairs
• Ability to relay technical information to others with little or no technical background
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills
• Attention to detail, excellent troubleshooting/problem solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Committed to meeting established deadlines, following-though, and follow-up
• Work experience with ticketing systems and issue documentation/resolution
• Knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with telephone solutions and support
• New and telephone
• Basic experience in a Help Desk or IT support role or environment is helpful
• Work experience or familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, SharePoint, Linux

Starting salary range $15  to $20 an hour commensurate with experience.
Position requires the use of a personal vehicle with related expenses reimbursed accordingly by Amazing Technologies. When available, individuals will have access to company vehicles maintained for use in/out of the local office.
