Claims Adjuster Trainee

National General Insurance is hiring an Auto Telephone Claims Adjuster Trainee to work in‑office at our Ontario, California location. The trainee will investigate and confirm the facts of loss for automobile accidents, determine coverage, liability and damages, and adjust and negotiate claims within authority. Key Responsibilities Handle basic investigation regarding coverage, liability and damages for auto claims. Identify customer needs and work to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills. Apply a basic understanding of systems and technology used within the company. Partner to determine subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle it. Exhibit a basic understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department. Begin recognizing and identifying body parts of a vehicle and other potential property damage. Applicants must have a clean record and, as a requirement of employment, terminate any existing insurance license appointments before onboarding and maintain no outside appointments during employment. Those holding a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed by the licensing team. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory duties. Total compensation includes base pay plus incentive components such as commission or bonus when applicable.
