The Nurse V Quality and Patient Safety, Chief is an advanced healthcare executive who executes responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and innovative approaches in the guidance and direction of a variety of complex patient care programs and services. They function as a leader, administrator, and consultant with a wide range of experience and authority that is broad enough to improve care for Veterans through their influence over policy development and decisions. Preferred experience for this position would be experience directing healthcare quality management, patient safety, accreditation, or performance improvement programs in a complex healthcare organization. Experience with The Joint Commission accreditation standards, regulatory compliance, and survey readiness activities. Experience leading High Reliability Organization (HRO), Lean Six Sigma, or Continuous Process Improvement initiatives. Knowledge of Veterans Health Administrative policies, quality management systems, and federal healthcare regulations preferred. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret healthcare quality metrics, patient safety data, and performance measures to improve organizational outcomes. Experience supervising interdisciplinary staff and collaborating with executive leadership, clinical services, and administrative programs. Strong written and oral communication skills with experience presenting reports, findings, and recommendations to senior leadership committees. Certification in healthcare quality or patient safety (e.g., CPHQ, Lean Six Sigma) is preferred.
