Job Summary:
This Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Little Falls, Minnesota. The role involves providing specialized care in the Labor and Delivery Department within an acute care setting. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. The unit operates on a rotating schedule with night shifts, and the assignment begins on July 6, 2026.

Job Details:

• Shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM, every third weekend, and every third holiday
• Hours: 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Experience: 1 year(s) of clinical experience, with must-have experience in Labor and Delivery (L&D), Medsurg (Medical-Surgical), and Pediatric (Peds) units; critical access experience preferred
• Clinical Skills & Responsibilities:
  • Must have experience in Medsurg/Peds & L&D departments
  • Able to titrate drips such as Pitocin, cardiac drips, Heparin, and sedation drugs
  • Reading and interpreting telemonitor strips independently, with support from ICU and Charge Nurses as needed
  • Follow EPIC electronic charting system
  • Communicate effectively, motivate, and demonstrate approachability
• Operational Details:
  • Unit has 4 postpartum beds and 6 L&D beds, with 1 triage bed
  • C-sections are performed in the operating room
  • Follows AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) guidelines for patient ratios
  • On-call RT (Respiratory Therapy) coverage 24/7 for vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen equipment
  • RNs are responsible for reading telemonitor strips (brand: Phillips)
  • One Nurse Aid is on duty from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
  • Unit includes a GE Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) system
  • Floating to Med Surg/Peds occurs when OB patient volume is low
• Additional Operational Requirements:
  • RTO (Request for Time Off) must be submitted upfront; no additional RTO will be approved after submission
  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility and may not have been employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organization or its affiliates within the past year
  • The facility may cancel up to 4 shifts within a 13-week assignment, or 3 shifts if the assignment is less than 13 weeks
