About the Role:

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality behavioral interventions to individuals, primarily children, with developmental disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder. This position involves implementing behavior analytic services under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to improve clients' social, communication, and learning skills. The RBT is responsible for collecting accurate data on client progress and ensuring that treatment plans are followed with fidelity. Through consistent and compassionate interaction, the RBT helps clients achieve meaningful improvements in their daily functioning and quality of life. This role requires a commitment to ethical practice, ongoing professional development, and collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams to support client success.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
• Completion of a 40-hour RBT training program covering essential behavior analytic principles and procedures.
• Ability to pass a background check and meet any state-specific requirements for working with vulnerable populations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions from supervising BCBAs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities in educational or clinical settings.
• Additional coursework or training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or related fields.
• Familiarity with data collection software and electronic health record systems.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans designed by supervising BCBAs with fidelity and consistency.
• Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress during therapy sessions to inform treatment adjustments.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for clients during all interactions.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and other team members regarding client progress and any concerns.
• Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

Skills:

The RBT utilizes strong observational and data collection skills daily to monitor client behaviors and treatment effectiveness accurately. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with clients, families, and supervisors to ensure clarity and consistency in service delivery. Problem-solving abilities help the RBT adapt interventions in real-time while maintaining adherence to treatment protocols. Empathy and patience are critical for building rapport with clients and supporting their unique needs compassionately. Additionally, organizational skills enable the RBT to manage session documentation and coordinate with team members efficiently, ensuring seamless care.
