Operating Room Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 5x8 hours (07:00 - 15:00). On-call required for weekday nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Description

The Operating Room Registered Nurse will provide specialized nursing care in a dynamic surgical environment. The RN will be responsible for patient management during surgical procedures, ensuring safety and quality of care, and collaborating with surgical teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist during surgical operations and provide direct nursing care to patients.
• Float between units as required by patient needs.
• Maintain infection control protocols and sterile environments.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in condition.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy.
• Participate in time-outs and ensure compliance with Universal Protocol.
• Handle specimens and maintain accurate patient records.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have an active RN license.
• ACLS certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Operating Room setting.
• Experience with Ortho Mako, Gyn, Sports Medicine, and Ortho Total Joints is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic charting system is required.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.
