Junior Cost Estimator

Your Role Here’s what you will be doing: Support estimating team, construction managers, project managers, and discipline leaders in developing cost estimates for construction projects and planning efforts. Review conceptual drawings, specifications, and project documentation to assist in preparing time, cost, material, and labor estimates. Support vendor and subcontractor estimate development, compare proposals, identify scope gaps or exclusions, and assist with quantity takeoffs and cost documentation. Prepare cost and expenditure reports and track actual costs against estimates. Support cost monitoring procedures and evaluate cost-effective options for materials, labor, or purchased components. Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures. Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction. Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components. About You The company is looking for: Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related discipline. Strong analytical and documentation skills. Attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and internal project teams.
