Business Systems Analyst - (Energy/Utilities)

Overview :

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join the team of one of their utility customers. The Senior Business Technology Analyst / Business Technology Analyst (BTA) plays a strategic role supporting AI-driven initiatives and broader business operations within Electric Distribution. This individual partners with business and IT teams to define, analyze, and translate complex business needs into technical solutions that improve grid intelligence, operational efficiency, and decision support. This role is responsible for gathering and structuring requirements, translating them into user stories, acceptance criteria, and testing plans, and supporting the design, development, and deployment of both project- and product-based solutions. The BTA serves as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT, driving process improvements, reengineering workflows, and ensuring solutions align with business objectives and corporate strategy. The position also includes collaboration with Product Owners, contributing to product strategy, managing and prioritizing backlogs, tracking OKRs, and ensuring alignment with product vision. Additional responsibilities include defining performance metrics, supporting testing efforts, managing vendor relationships, and driving continuous improvement across systems and processes.

Must Haves

• Experience working as a Business Technology Analyst / Business Analyst supporting technical or digital initiatives
• Strong experience with requirements gathering, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Ability to act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams
• Experience analyzing complex business problems and developing automated system solutions
• Experience supporting testing efforts, including test plans and validation of features/functionality
• Familiarity with Agile environments including backlog management and working with Product Owners
• Minimum High School Diploma

Plusses

• Hands-on experience supporting AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics initiatives
• Experience working with data scientists or analytics engineers
• Exposure to AI tools and platforms
• Experience within Electric Distribution, utilities, or similar industries
• Strong experience with product backlogs, OKRs, and performance metrics tracking
• Ability to reengineer processes and drive operational efficiency improvements
• Experience managing software vendors and external partners
• Advanced knowledge of digital products, user journeys, and system development
• Experience developing scenario-based test plans for functional and regression testing

Compensation :$90/hr to $112hr .Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law
