Litigation Associate - Civil Defense

A well‑established civil defense firm with a strong Midwest presence is seeking a Litigation Associate for its Detroit office. This role offers hands‑on litigation experience, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work alongside respected trial attorneys handling transportation, insurance, and general liability matters. The ideal candidate has strong writing skills, courtroom exposure, and a commitment to high‑quality defense work. Responsibilities Draft motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and legal memoranda Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts Manage discovery, including document review, analysis, and strategy Attend hearings, mediations, and case management conferences Work directly with clients, insurers, and experts Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, witness outlines, and case strategy Research complex legal issues and collaborate with partners on case development Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines across multiple matters Qualifications 3-5 years of civil litigation experience Background in insurance defense, transportation, or general liability preferred Experience attending hearings and taking depositions Strong writing, research, and analytical skills Excellent organization and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines Flex schedule Collaborative litigation team Opportunities for courtroom experience and professional growth #J-18808-Ljbffr In-Finite Search Solutions
