The Manufacturing Strategy and Integration team of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Manufacturing Professional Training Lead (Staff Project Manager) to lead the sector’s Professional Development for manufacturing. The Manufacturing Professional Training Lead owns the end‑to‑end learning strategy for all manufacturing support functions (industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, production control, etc.) This role designs, delivers, and continuously improves professional‑development programs that enhance technical competence, safety awareness, and leadership capabilities, ensuring the workforce can meet current production demands and future growth initiatives. The ideal candidate is a motivated professional who self-initiates to apply knowledge of adult learning principles utilizing innovative solutions that meet organizational educational needs. This training professional will collaborate with instructional design staff and subject matter experts to identify, plan, create, design, test, implement, deliver, support, and maintain effective and engaging learning opportunities and training activities through a variety of modalities (self-paced, in-person, mobile, virtual, video, job aids, microlearning, articles, etc.). This individual will have experience in facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using, and managing appropriate learning theories, cognitive and technological processes, and resources. Must work collaboratively in a team environment across engineering disciplines to accomplish mission goals. Must excel in a fast-paced mission-focused environment. Must be able to meet rapid development timelines. Areas of Responsibility: Develop and coordinate the integrated learning strategy to ensure our entire manufacturing support teams are prepared to support next generation products and processes. Partner with employees, managers and communities of practice across the sector to facilitate the creation of core curriculums for manufacturing support teams. Select appropriate delivery methods (classroom, e-learning, on-the-job, VR/AR, etc.) Manage the skill development/training program delivery ensuring that proper assessments & evaluations are in place to drive business impact. Facilitate the communities of practice program to ensure sharing of best practices across the sector. Facilitate continuous improvement/evolution of learning strategy and training programs. Oversee certification and qualification practices for manufacturing hires. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of related experience OR a Master’s degree and 10+ years of experience OR a PhD and 8+ years of experience. Will consider 16 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree requirement. 5 years in manufacturing/industrial environments, with at least 3 years designing and delivering technical training Proven track record of measurable learning impact on production metrics. Basic Data analytics skills Basic competency in Project Management skills and toolsets Experience developing instructor guides, student manuals, workbooks, job aids, and related materials. Experience developing e-learning (e.g. computer-based, web-based training, online learning) that is delivered through digital media including LMS, web, video, or mobile devices US citizenship required Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications Proficiency with LMS platforms (e.g., Cornerstone, SAP SuccessFactors, Moodle). Familiarity with electronics manufacturing to be able to create relevant content. Experience with Agile processes and tools (Scrum, Kanban, JIRA, Confluence) Experience utilizing training development tools Ability to obtain a DoD (Department of Defense) Top Secret Familiarity with electronics manufacturing to be able to create relevant content. Primary Level Salary Range: $126,400.00 - $219,500.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
