The Commercial Construction Project Manager oversees and coordinates small teams to successfully plan, manage, and deliver new construction, renovation, and remodeling projects. Reporting to the Director of Construction, this role operates primarily from the office while regularly visiting job sites to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence. The ideal candidate balances client communication, contract management, and risk oversight to ensure projects meet scope, budget, and timeline requirements.
Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule project activities, ensuring alignment with budget and timeline
- Oversee team coordination and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
- Manage contracts and monitor compliance with safety and quality standards
- Conduct regular site inspections and verify progress against project milestones
- Identify and mitigate risks to avoid project delays and cost overruns
- Monitor budget expenditures and approve necessary adjustments
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and construction regulations
- Report project status to the Director of Construction and recommend improvements
Required Qualifications
- Experience in production, manufacturing, or related fields, including familiarity with schematics and technical drawings
- Knowledge of manufacturing machinery operation and maintenance
- Ability to handle physical workloads associated with site visits
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of commercial construction project management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field
- Strong skills in project scheduling, budget management, and blueprint reading
- Comprehensive understanding of construction safety regulations
- Proven team leadership with problem-solving and communication skills
