Medical Office Specialist

Job Summary And Qualifications Full time (Monday – Friday, days), no nights, no on‑call, no weekends, no holidays. Seeking a Medical Office Specialist for our practice who provides clerical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. Responsibilities Work at the reception desk, answer phones, greet and communicate with patients and providers. Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments. Check in patients and properly document registration. Verify insurance and patient demographics. File and retrieve medical records/files. Copy and fax documents. Collect co‑pays and cash from patients, obtain authorization on credit cards. Enter charges, payments, and balance the day in the computer. Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement. Perform other duties as required. Read, understand, and adhere to all Physician Services policies and procedures. As a Certified Patient Centered Medical Home, coordinate continuity of patient care with external healthcare organizations and facilities and referrals from the primary care provider to specialty care providers. Participate on a team for data collection, health outcomes reporting, audits, and programmatic evaluation related to the Patient Centered Medical Home. Qualifications Less than one year of experience is required; one to three years of experience is preferred.
