HVAC Technician

HVAC TechnicianResponsible for the safe repair and preventive maintenance of all HVAC equipment to include but not limited to steam boilers, heat pumps, VAV's, cooling towers and forced air systems. Operation of building automation controls. On call responsibilities, overtime and weekend work.Salary based on experience, up to $31/hrShift: 6:00 am- 3:00 pmEssential Job FunctionsWorking knowledge of HVAC mechanical, electrical and trouble shooting skillsRemoval and repair or replacement of HVAC equipment and motorsResponsible for developing and executing the preventative maintenance of all HVAC equipmentRefrigeration handlingOrganize training programs for apprentice HVAC techniciansApplication of chemical treatment and filtration of enclosed loopsBoiler and cooling tower maintenance and chemical treatmentManage HVAC parts inventory and prepare purchase order requestsAssist with ordering HVAC parts and equipment as neededKeep accurate maintenance and work order documentationSafety – Familiarity with safety features of equipment and able to work in a safe manner at all timesEssential SkillsMinimum 2 years hands-on experience with HVAC equipmentMust have valid driver's license and acceptable driving recordAbility to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematicsExtensive experience with hand tools, power tools and measuring devicesKnowledge of hydronic, steam, heat pump and forced air heating systemsKnowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning systemsMechanical and electrical systems troubleshooting experienceAbility to handle deadlines and changing priorities and able to work in a fast-paced and customer service-oriented environmentAbility to meet deadlines in a timely manner while working as part of a team as well as completing assignments independentlyMust obtain certification to operate forklifts and all Lands' End motorized vehiclesMust be able to work a 40 hour work week and be available for weekends and overtime as business needs arise.
