Job Details:

• Produce two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs using specialized ultrasound equipment
• Select appropriate equipment and transducers based on examination specifications and organ depth requirements
• Explain procedures to patients and assist with proper positioning for examinations
• Monitor sound wave display screens to ensure quality ultrasonic patterns are produced
• Key test data and patient information into computer systems to maintain accurate records
• Save diagnostic images to obtain permanent records of internal examinations
• Operate diagnostic ultrasound processing and printing equipment to create quality final images
• Assess patients to determine optimum technical techniques and positioning
• Review physician orders for accuracy prior to examination start
• Complete patient orders and charges while ensuring proper scheduling and record maintenance
• Maintain safe patient environment and comply with fall prevention protocols
• Accommodate elderly patients with reduced endurance and strength during procedures
• Graduate of accredited Ultrasound Technology or Radiology Technology program required
• American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) registration required
• AHA BLS certification required within 6 months of hire
• Previous ultrasound procedure experience preferred
• Must demonstrate quality consciousness, interpersonal skills, and high technical abilities
