Radiology Technologist Evenings

Job Summary Takes x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and provides support for the imaging department. The position performs plain films, fluoroscopy, portables, OR exams, and bone density studies (BD registry required). Key Responsibilities Explains procedures to patient to ensure understanding and provides appropriate educational material. Transports patients and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures. Prepares and positions patients for radiology exams. Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent unnecessary exposure. Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and regulatory requirements. Observes patients during procedures and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted. Ensures prompt submission of high‑quality images and documents to PACS (correct lead markers, patient data/history). Maintains proper functioning of equipment and reports potential problems or equipment malfunctions. Locks out and tags out equipment when appropriate. Maintains a clean, orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and other areas. May perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT technologist is not on site. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Completion of a Radiology Technology program. ARRT‑R Radiography certification required within 6 months of hire. Bones Density certification (ARRT‑BD) may be required. Licenses & Certifications Required by State Illinois: BLS HCP (AHA) and ARRT‑R (or ARRT‑BD). Missouri: BLS HCP (AHA) and ARRT‑R (or ARRT‑BD). Wisconsin: BLS HCP (AHA), Licensed Radiographer (Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services) and ARRT‑R (or ARRT‑BD). Physical Requirements Constant standing and walking, frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more), frequent use of hearing, speech, and body sounds, recurring lifting of objects 0‑25 lbs and occasionally 25‑50 lbs, frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use, occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Rare kneeling and sitting. Work Shift & Hours Evening shift, 40 hours per week, full‑time, with shift differentials up to $2/hour for evenings, nights, weekends, and additional shifts.
