Job Description

The Production Associate plays a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by preparing batches, operating processing equipment, and accurately entering production data into computerized systems. This position focuses on safely loading mixers, moving and staging materials, packaging finished products, and monitoring equipment through digital displays and control screens to ensure consistent quality and efficiency throughout the production process.

Responsibilities

• Load mixers with appropriate materials according to established production procedures and work instructions.
• Prepare batches by measuring, weighing, and combining materials using digital scales in both metric and US standard units.
• Operate processing equipment safely and efficiently, following machine operation and machine safety guidelines.
• Monitor assigned equipment, including start-up, shutdown, and lockout/tag-out procedures, to maintain safe and reliable operation.
• Use and monitor computerized display and control screens to oversee production processes and make necessary adjustments.
• Perform accurate data entry into production systems and computer software to document production activities and material usage.
• Move and stage raw materials and finished goods in designated areas to support continuous production flow.
• Package products according to quality and packaging standards, ensuring correct labeling and documentation.
• Maintain proper documentation for production runs, including batch records, inspection results, and process logs.
• Follow cleanroom, inspection, and production line procedures to maintain product quality and a safe work environment.
• Operate a forklift to transport materials and products within the facility, adhering to all safety and equipment guidelines.
• Support general assembly and production tasks as needed to meet daily output and quality targets.
• Adhere to work instructions and production processes to ensure consistent, high-quality results.
• Observe and report any equipment issues or process deviations to support continuous improvement in production operations.

Essential Skills

• Experience in production or manufacturing environments with responsibilities such as assembly, packaging, and machine operation.
• Ability to operate processing equipment and production machinery while following machine safety and work instruction guidelines.
• Proficiency in data entry into production systems and computer software with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Capability to use digital scales in both metric and US standard units for weighing and measuring materials.
• Experience with cleanroom or controlled production environments, following inspection and production line procedures.
• Ability to monitor computerized display and control screens to oversee equipment status and production parameters.
• Knowledge of lockout/tag-out procedures and safe equipment start-up and shutdown practices.
• Skill in moving and staging materials safely and efficiently within a production facility.
• Ability to operate a forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse setting while following safety protocols.
• Strong understanding of production processes, including preparation of batches and packaging of finished products.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility with multiple shift options that may include schedules such as 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with some required weekday overtime, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m., and 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. Some start times may be adjusted, such as moving to a 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. schedule depending on operational needs and candidate experience. The environment includes production lines, cleanroom or controlled areas, and machine operation stations with computerized display and control screens. Employees work with processing equipment, mixers, digital scales, forklifts, and packaging stations while following detailed work instructions, machine safety practices, and lockout/tag-out procedures. The setting is fast-paced and safety-focused, with clear processes designed to support consistent quality and efficient production.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Simpsonville, SC.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
