Approximate schedule for this position is 6am-2pm Mon-Fri. 100% In Office. This role requires a dynamic, collaborative presence on site. What You’ll Do Champion Safety – prioritize safety throughout operations for yourself and others in conformity with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Maintain Cash Fund – manage cash fund accurately, report discrepancies, and handle cash, checks, or credit card transactions. Maintain Office – keep the office neat and professional, answer phones, and handle office duties and projects as requested. Prepare and Operate Scales – prepare scales for daily use; troubleshoot and repair issues, operate truck scales, generate correct tickets for customers, and weigh incoming materials such as gasoline, diesel fuel, explosives, and scrap sales. Provide Excellent Customer Service – greet customers politely, bill transactions correctly, resolve complaints through communication with the sales/dispatch department, and instruct load out personnel on customer needs. Ensure Quality Control – conduct routine testing of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, and finished materials using ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT methods; ensure quality control of products at the point of production, shipping, and arrival at job sites. Document and Report Information – complete all required reports timely, interpret, document, and store results, and communicate test results to the supervisor and in a database. Maintain Lab Standards – uphold housekeeping standards, troubleshoot problems, review product specifications, and inspect, calibrate, and maintain testing equipment periodically. Monitor Stockpile – inspect stockpiles, material sources, and truckloads; monitor daily construction of the stockpile to keep segregation and contamination minimal; notify management immediately if contamination is identified. Inspect Equipment and Structures – conduct routine inspections of plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations, maximize production, and minimize interruptions. Additional Responsibilities – operate heavy equipment, perform general maintenance and support duties, run the scales and plant as needed, and perform other duties as assigned. Skills You’ll Need Education – high‑school diploma or equivalent. Experience – minimum two years in a customer service role (preferred). Experience in an aggregate or scale house setting, materials testing, or operating heavy equipment or scales is a plus. Safety Knowledge – awareness of construction and mining site hazards. Math Skills – ability to perform simple to moderately complex arithmetic calculations. Technology Skills – proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, Oracle Business Environment, and other relevant software packages. Communication Skills – effective written and oral communication. Time Management Skills – organizational skills, prioritization of workload, detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, dependable, timely, and reliable. Flexibility – willingness to work overtime and extended hours, work outside in all weather conditions, and tolerate loud noises. Salary Range The base salary range for this role is between $26.40 and $32.51 per hour. This range does not include discretionary bonuses or equity.
