Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified Registered Dietitian to join our nutritional services team. This position is responsible for providing clinical inpatient and outpatient medical nutrition therapy (MNT) including nutrition education, assessment, and treatment for patients of all ages, from neonatal to geriatric.

Shift Details

• Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour (08:00 - 16:30)
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend

Job Accountabilities

• Nutritional Services:
  • Deliver medical nutrition therapy, including diabetes self-management education (DSME) to patients with diabetes, pre-diabetes, or diabetes-related diseases.
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and consultations to determine treatment requirements, precautions, and required education.
  • Educate patients on their therapy or treatment in a clear and professional manner to alleviate fear and anxiety.
  • Ensure the completion of routine and priority tasks within established departmental timelines.
• Clerical Duties:
  • Perform general clerical tasks including answering phones, updating patient appointments, and managing electronic health records (EHR).
  • Prepare and complete accurate documentation related to patient care, including all therapy performed.
• Safety:
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment post-use.
• Compliance:
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient protected health information (PHI). Ensure compliance with department standards and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Retain certification and complete required continuing education for accreditation and licensure.

Education & Certification

• Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Must possess RD/RDN certification and BLS certification.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required.
• Experience with varying medical conditions and nutritional principles is essential.

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Well-developed time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records.
• Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Capability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems using established solutions.
