Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of acute care experience with trauma facility background and ARRT-R certification.

Details

• Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital with Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designations
• 874 licensed beds with 350-400 patients per day
• Rotates shift-by-shift across ED, OR, and Main radiology areas
• Main Level (4th floor): 2 x-ray rooms, 3 fluoro rooms; ED: 2 rooms; 40 ORs with 12 C-arms and 2 O-arms; 15 portables
• Patient population includes adults and pediatrics (including neonates) from ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatients across the full spectrum of radiology exams
• 12-hour day shifts, weekends, 630am-7pm, 36 hours per week
• No weekend/weekday shift rotation - travelers remain on the same days and shifts per contract
• No call requirements
• Will float only to different areas of x-ray and for portables within the facility
• Uses Shimadzu RadSpeed general rad room, Konica and Shimadzu portables, Philips C-arm, GE O-arm

Requirements

• Active license required if applicable
• BLS and ARRT-R certification required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience with some trauma level experience (Level I, II, or III)
• First-time travelers considered if they have trauma facility experience
• General X-ray skills including imaging of head, neck, spine, extremities, abdomen, hands, feet, chest, and comfort with trauma patients and portables
• OR experience across spinal, ortho, general surgery, neuro, and peds specialties
• C-arm experience required; O-arm experience preferred
• EPIC experience required
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Last 4 of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within one year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge title

Additional Information

• Perform diagnostic imaging across the full spectrum of radiology exams for a high-acuity, teaching hospital patient population
• Work alongside MD residents and fellows with on-site radiologists and 24/7 support from Lead Tech, Supervisor, and RT staff
• Rapid Response/Code Team and department transporter support available
• May be asked to precept x-ray students depending on experience
• Facility orientation includes tour and introductions, plus up to 5 days of departmental orientation with flexibility based on traveler needs
• Will work holidays that fall on a normally scheduled day
• RTO requires manager approval
• Black scrubs required; OR scrubs provided if assigned to that area
• Free teammate parking available across several decks
• Good teamwork and high clinical skill culture in a fast-paced environment
• Local candidates not accepted due to 50 mile radius rule
• Returning travelers must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a perm position
