Job Summary

As a Patient Access Specialist I, you will be responsible for registering patients accurately using specialized software, verifying insurance and benefits, and managing referrals and pre-authorizations. You will conduct registration interviews, handle point-of-service collections including co-payments and balances, and maintain daily cash drawer operations. Your communication skills will be essential as you operate a multi-line phone system, respond to patient inquiries, and collaborate with staff to provide a seamless patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and register patients while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Verify insurance coverage, referrals, and pre-authorizations.
• Collect patient financial responsibilities at point of service and manage cash drawer.
• Operate multi-line telephone systems to assist patients and staff professionally.
• Maintain confidentiality and provide a respectful, comfortable environment for patients.
• Complete administrative tasks including mail processing and workflow improvements.
• Participate actively in team activities and support a positive work environment.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Healthcare experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare revenue cycle is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is encouraged.

Work Schedule

Full-time, typically 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday, with some variation based on business needs.
