Job Title: Production Machine Operator

Job Description

The Production Machine Operator safely produces and finishes high-quality cast molded products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves operating production machinery, performing precise measurements and inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency across multiple shifts. This role will be available on all shifts and can start within the next week. Starting pay is $22 an hour.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery to safely produce and finish quality cast molded products in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Cut materials to specified tolerances by following SOPs and work instructions.
• Measure products accurately using tape measures, micrometers, verniers, calipers, and other precision tools.
• Visually inspect products to verify conformance to quality and specification requirements.
• Maintain accurate work documentation, including computer entries and hand-written records.
• Read and follow production schedules, manufacturing orders, and shop orders to complete work on time.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area and uphold high housekeeping standards for company property.
• Load and unload annealing rigs, carts, and ovens to maximize annealing throughput.
• Inspect all products and use all required tools to control and verify specified requirements throughout the process.
• Perform in-process quality checks and take appropriate corrective action when process deviations occur.
• Transfer product to the next manufacturing process or to the warehouse in a timely manner.
• Operate additional casting and secondary operations equipment as needed.
• Remove molds from machines once cycles are complete and clean trays thoroughly; perform repetitive production tasks as required.
• Initiate and support activities that minimize downtime and improve product quality and process efficiency.
• Use computers and basic software or interfaces to navigate, record, and track production data.
• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to an injury-free work environment.
• Perform additional duties as required to support production goals and team objectives.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• 13 years of industrial or manufacturing experience specifically related to machine operation is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in basic machine operation in a production environment.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to understand and follow work orders, schedules, and safety instructions.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure, including to 1/16 of an inch.
• Ability to use micrometers and other precision measurement tools for inspection.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery and tools.
• Basic computer navigation skills for data entry and documentation.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
• Commitment to working safely and supporting an injury-free environment.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and process flow in a manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with table saws, extrusion equipment, overhead cranes, and CNC machinery is highly beneficial for training and performance.
• Previous experience with production, general production work, and inspection tasks.
• Familiarity with hand tools and their safe use in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience using calipers and additional precision measuring instruments.
• Forklift experience is helpful and may support material handling activities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in both measurement and documentation.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently while maintaining quality standards.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts (for 1st and 2nd shifts) and fixed overnight shifts (3rd shift) as required.
• Ability to work mandatory weekend shifts when needed, after reaching the required training level.
• Post-offer, pre-employment drug screening may be required in accordance with company policy.

Work Environment

This is a manufacturing production environment with three shifts: 1st shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and 3rd shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The 3rd shift is fixed, while 1st and 2nd shifts operate on a rotating weekly schedule. Weekend work is mandatory when needed across departments, though new employees typically are not scheduled for mandatory weekend shifts until they reach a certain level of training. The facility uses equipment such as extrusion machinery, table saws, overhead cranes, CNC machines, annealing rigs, carts, ovens, and a variety of hand and measuring tools including micrometers and calipers. The production floor can be hot in the summer months, as there is no air conditioning in that area. Appropriate protective footwear is required; metatarsal or steel-toe protection is a must, and strap-on metatarsals may be available if needed. Typical dress attire includes jeans and 100% cotton T-shirts, suitable for a hands-on, industrial environment focused on safety and productivity.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shillington, PA.

The pay range for this position is $22.72 - $22.72/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
