Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 1-2 years of experience and an active OK or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a 25-bed Medical Surgical unit
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15) with option for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Weekend requirement of every other weekend
• Floating required within scope to like units as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
• Uses EPIC documentation system (experience preferred)

Requirements

• Active OK or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• 2 years of experience preferred, candidates with 1+ years will be considered
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
• Skilled in colostomy/ileostomy management and feeding tube care
• Experience administering medications including Heparin, Insulin, and PCA
• Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and wound care
• Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, and oxygen tank management
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• Knowledge of surgical drain management
• Telemetry remote monitoring experience
• Experience utilizing rapid response/code teams

Additional Information

• Navy scrub color required
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel position
• Former employees of the facility must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• RTO must be submitted and approved by the manager at time of consideration
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travelers will receive a brief orientation before floating to like units within their scope
