Phlebotomist III - Floater

Overview The Phlebotomist III - Floater is the face of our company to patients who come in for routine health activities or insights into health decisions. The PSR III draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing, following established practices and procedures. The role involves direct patient contact, explaining procedures, and performing blood draws in a skilled, safe, and accurate manner. The PSR III demonstrates leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence and confidentiality of patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor’s office, a patient service center, or other locations as needed. Under the direction of the area supervisor, daily activities are performed accurately and on time while maintaining a safe and professional environment. Responsibilities Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices and procedures. Draw blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing. Verify patient demographic information, initials, and patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm tubes are labeled correctly in the patient’s presence. Explain procedures to patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence. Maintain required records and documentation and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public. Demonstrate leadership behaviors and focus on process excellence and accuracy in handling patient information. Be flexible to travel and assignment location changes based on business needs, including doctor’s offices and patient service centers. Qualifications and Requirements Ability to produce high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision. Excellent phlebotomy skills across pediatric and geriatric populations. Flexible schedule with availability on weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed. Strong judgment and decision-making based on established procedures. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable. Willingness to travel to multiple locations and cover Patient Service Center/In-Office Phlebotomy locations with short notice. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting and maintain superior customer focus; effective communication with peers, supervisors, and patients; adaptability to change; and knowledge of the business. Education and Experience Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred. Geographic requirements: Required in California, Nevada, and Washington. Work Experience: Three years of phlebotomy experience required (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections); minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
