Material Handler

We are hiring 10 Material Handlers to join our growing team! In this role, you'll operate a sit-down forklift and use RF scanning technology to keep materials moving efficiently throughout the warehouse. You'll play a key part in supporting production, ensuring product accuracy, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This position also offers the opportunity to act as a team lead, helping coordinate daily tasks and support coworkerswithout formal management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a sit-down forklift to transport materials throughout the facility
• Use RF scanning devices to track inventory and product movement accurately
• Load and unload trailers, staging materials in designated areas
• Support production teams by delivering and removing materials as needed
• Process shipments using internal systems, including labeling and documentation
• Inspect incoming and outgoing products for quality, damage, and accuracy
• Assist with shipping, receiving, and general warehouse operations
• Help coordinate daily workflow and support team members as an informal team lead
• Follow all safety guidelines, GMP standards, and company procedures

Required Qualifications

• 6+ months of manufacturing or production experience
• 1+ year of sit-down forklift experience
• Proven ability to operate forklifts safely in a warehouse or production environment
• Experience using RF scanners or similar inventory systems
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to perform physical material handling tasks, including loading/unloading trailers
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to follow safety procedures and GMP guidelines
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to support and guide coworkers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, assembly, or production environments
• Familiarity with shipping systems and documentation processes
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Flexibility to work different shifts and complete training as required

Work Environment & Schedule

• Clean, modern facility producing packaging for everyday consumer products (e.g., shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash)
• Temperature-controlled warehouse and production areas
• Work performed in accordance with GMP standards
• Required attire: steel-toe boots, long pants (jeans or khakis), and t-shirt
• PPE provided (ear plugs, hair nets, etc.)

Shifts:

• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM 2:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM 10:00 PM
• Training: 1 week on 1st shift

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Iowa City, IA.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
