Elementary Student Support Monitor
We are seeking a dedicated Student Support Monitor to join our team. The Student Support Monitor is responsible for creating a safe and welcoming school environment. This role involves implementing Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) for social/emotional/behavioral, mentoring students on appropriate behavior, fostering a growth mindset, and student supervision. The Student Support Monitor will work closely with administrators, support staff, and the broader school community to ensure the safety and well-being of all.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED.
- Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed.
- 48 hours of college or pass paraprofessional assessment.
- All USD 383 employees must pass a background check.
Salary: $15.00 - 16.50/hour. Placement within this range is based on relevant qualifications, including prior experience, education, and applicable certifications (e.g., bachelor's degree, advanced certification, bilingual proficiency, etc.).
Hours Per Day: 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Terms of Employment: Position available during the regular school year. New employees go through a 45-day introductory period as part of onboarding after which benefits will begin, and leave can be used. This position is funded by at-risk funds.
Reports To: Building Principal. Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
Job Duties:
- Greets and welcomes students to the school, including engagement with students through a daily check in/check out routine.
- Works closely with school administration and supporting staff to contribute to Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) for social/emotional/behavioral.
- Engage in mentoring and supporting appropriate behavior through means of teaching replacement behaviors.
- Contribute to student discussion on topics such as growth mindset and character development.
- Re-engage disconnected students through appropriate restorative practice, behavior specific praise, and behavior modeling.
- Assist students with following routines and transitions for the purpose of providing proactive support to diminish negative student behaviors, which includes escort, monitor, and maintain supervision of students at arrival, dismissal, classes, lunch, and other activities as needed
- Execute strategies for recognizing and working with students experiencing crisis and trauma.
- Promote foundational practice of Safe and Civil Schools (CHAMPS) as well as schoolwide positive behavior supports (PBIS).
- Helps administrators identify and address disruptions by students.
- Continually supervise students to ensure a safe, non-threatening, nurturing environment where students can thrive.
- Assists in development of behavior intervention plans. Supports student attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
