Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,860–$1,960
• Assignment Type: 13-week Emergency Department RN travel contract
• Location: Santa Monica, California
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• End Date: February 15, 2027
• Healthcare Setting: 21-bed, high-volume emergency department with an average daily census of approximately 140 patients
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.; various days, with occasional late-mid shifts
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
• Documentation: Epic electronic health record required
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Call: Not required
• Uniform: Navy blue scrubs

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• At least 3 years of recent experience in trauma and adult emergency department nursing
• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license; EMSA credentials are not accepted for this assignment
• BSN required
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications
• Recent experience with Epic electronic health records
• Strong assessment, triage, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills in a fast-paced emergency setting
• First-time travelers may be considered based on the depth of emergency nursing experience

Emergency Department Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care for adult, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients
• Perform rapid assessments, triage, reassessments, and timely escalation of changes in patient condition
• Care for patients experiencing trauma, stroke, STEMI, respiratory emergencies, sepsis, overdose, behavioral health crises, burns, seizures, and other acute conditions
• Assist with and manage emergency procedures, including intubation support, procedural sedation monitoring, chest tube care, central line management, blood product administration, and emergency medication delivery
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and arterial blood gases, obtain 12-lead ECGs, initiate IV access, and administer prescribed treatments
• Provide care for ventilated patients and patients requiring IV vasopressors, sedation, or paralytics
• Apply appropriate isolation precautions and collaborate with respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and other interdisciplinary teams
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic while maintaining patient safety and compassionate care
