Principal Reliability Engineer Onsite

Principal Reliability Engineer – Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center invites applications for a Principal Reliability Engineer for its Life Cycle Engineering team. Location: Portsmouth, RI – Onsite (U.S. citizen required, U.S. government security clearance – Secret level required). Responsibilities Conduct Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) analyses, including reliability and maintainability predictions. Perform Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) and Fault Detection/Fault Isolation (FDFI) analyses. Define and allocate RAM requirements. Assess RAM performance metrics such as MTBF, MTBCF, and Operational Availability (Ao). Interpret data, analyze results, and perform probability risk assessment. Ensure performance compliance with requirements and maintain complex Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD) and system models. Execute Failure Reporting Analysis & Corrective Action System (FRACAS) tasks, including trend analysis, failure investigations, and presentation to stakeholders at program meetings and Failure Review Boards (FRB). Support proposal development by creating Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for RAM work. Track Earned Value (EV) and provide accurate schedule and budget status for the RAM/FRACAS scope. Collaborate across disciplines and present technical material to various audiences. Qualifications Required: Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in reliability, maintainability, failure analysis, and/or electrical design. Active U.S. security clearance – Secret level required. U.S. citizenship. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred: Experience with reliability and FRACAS engineering concepts, including RBDs, MTBF/MTBCF, Ao, and probability risk assessment. Electrical Engineering background and education. Experience with FMECA/FDFI, FRACAS, and basis of estimates for RAM work. Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines. Other Information Domestic travel not expected to exceed 10% of the time.
