The State University of New York at Fredonia is seeking a full-time Lecturer in the Voice and Choral areas, with expertise in Voice studio teaching and choral conducting. In addition to conducting our University Chorus, a 100+ person ensemble with both music majors and non-majors, the successful candidate will be prepared to teach applied lessons and recital seminar. Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Music Performance, the successful candidate will: Teach undergraduate studio lessons in Voice (in a broad variety of styles); Conduct University Chorus or other choral ensemble(s) as assigned. Support student retention and success through academic advising and efforts toward inclusion and belonging; Participate in committees and provide service to the Department of Music Performance, School of Music, University, and profession; Be aware of, understand, and follow all university policies. This is a full-time Lecturer position beginning Fall 2026, with an annual salary $50,063-$53,000, commensurate with experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in a relevant discipline; Experience teaching one-on-one studio voice lessons, which include a wide variety of styles Training and experience conducting a choir; Demonstrated innovative and creative pedagogical approaches in voice teaching and conducting; Demonstrated ability and desire to support student needs across multiple School of Music degree programs. (i.e. music performance, Musical Theatre, Bachelor of Arts programs, music composition, music education, music therapy, sound recording technology); Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents in support of campus and school missions. Experience teaching vocal styles both within the Western classical tradition and in styles appropriate to contemporary musical theater. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience teaching studio voice and choral conducting at the university level. Three years of teaching experience at the college level; Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline (or ABD); Demonstrated excellence in vocal performance and choral conducting.
