Patient Access Liaison - UPLIZNA -(Rare Disease) Los Angeles/San Diego

Amgen seeks a Patient Access Liaison to support patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers in navigating insurance coverage and reimbursement for specialty therapies. The field-based role addresses access barriers, educates stakeholders on prior authorization and billing processes, and collaborates with internal teams to ensure timely therapy access.

Responsibilities

• Serve as patient access resource for infused and specialty therapies, addressing coverage and reimbursement questions
• Engage patients and caregivers through phone, virtual, and in-person contact to assess needs and provide education
• Educate physician offices and infusion centers on therapy coverage pathways and prior authorization requirements
• Investigate access barriers and denied claims; escalate complex reimbursement issues to internal stakeholders
• Partner with Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Case Management teams to support patient access initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years patient services or access/reimbursement experience, or equivalent education combination
• Experience supporting buy-and-bill or infused pharmaceutical therapies
• Rare disease or orphan drug background preferred
• Knowledge of insurance benefits, prior authorization, and billing/coding processes
• HIPAA compliance and healthcare regulatory knowledge
• Clinical background such as nursing preferred
