Food Service Supervisor

YWCA of Greater Cleveland The YWCA of Greater Cleveland is seeking a dedicated and organized Food Service Supervisor to lead our food service operations and help ensure residents and guests receive nutritious, high-quality meals every day. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who enjoys cooking, supervising staff, managing inventory, and creating a welcoming dining experience that supports our mission of empowering women and strengthening families. About The Role As the Food Service Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operation of our food service program, including meal planning, food preparation, inventory management, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and budget oversight. You will work closely with staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure meals are prepared safely, efficiently, and with care. What You’ll Do Lead and support a team of food service professionals, including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance management. Plan nutritious weekly menus and oversee meal preparation, service, and kitchen operations. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, licensing requirements, and health standards. Manage food purchasing, inventory control, storage, labeling, and product rotation. Monitor department budgets, pricing, invoices, and monthly reporting requirements. Coordinate volunteer support and track volunteer contributions. Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, storage, and dining areas. Support special events, holiday meals, and agency‑wide initiatives. What We’re Looking For Successful candidates will bring strong organizational skills, a commitment to food safety, and a passion for serving diverse populations. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with fewer than 3 points. Current ServSafe Manager Certification or equivalent food handling certification. Knowledge of food allergens and dietary considerations. Dependable, flexible, and able to maintain professional boundaries. Preferred Qualifications Four years of food service experience. At least one year of supervisory or management experience. Experience working within nonprofit, residential, shelter, healthcare, or institutional food service settings. Schedule & Physical Requirements This is a full‑time, exempt position that typically works Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be required to meet operational needs.
