Accounts Receivable Specialist

Location: South Bend, Indiana (Fully Onsite) Salary: $50,000 – $60,000

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our growing accounting team in South Bend, Indiana. This fully onsite role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume environment, enjoys building strong customer relationships, and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience managing the full accounts receivable process.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and manage a high volume of accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare and monitor aging reports, proactively following up on outstanding balances to improve collections.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers while professionally resolving payment discrepancies.
• Apply customer payments accurately and ensure cash receipts are posted in a timely manner.
• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate billing or payment issues to maintain accurate account balances.
• Collaborate with accounting, sales, and customer service teams to resolve invoice and payment concerns.
• Maintain organized and accurate AR records while supporting month-end close activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve AR processes and strengthen collection efforts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Accounts Receivable experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
• Experience preparing and analyzing aging reports.
• Strong account reconciliation and cash application experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
